The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning issued a circular regarding the mechanism for dealing with applications submitted before the issuance of the application of canceling fees for recovering the cost of infrastructure related to the issuance of building permits, and developing financing solutions to provide infrastructure in new areas and when issuing zoning plans.
And according to what was stated in the ministry's circular, it was decided that the fees due are calculated based on the ministerial decision regarding the regulation of fees for connecting electricity and water services to all applicants to obtain a building permit before the issuance of the decision to cancel the recovery of the cost of infrastructure.
With regard to applications under procedure, it was decided to cancel the invoices allocated to the system for all applications submitted before the issuance of the decision to organize the mechanism for canceling the recovery of the cost of infrastructure, which has not been paid any amounts to date, provided that the fees due for the connection of electricity and water services are calculated.
The circular also stipulates the cancellation of the invoices allocated to the system for all applications submitted before the issuance of the aforementioned decision, for applications that have not completed the payment of the rest of the amounts due, provided that the fees due for the connection of electricity and water services are calculated in two ways, the first in the event that the amounts paid cover the fees due for the service Electricity and water connection. In this case, the request is passed without issuing an additional invoice. In the event that the amounts paid for the electricity and water services do not cover the due fees, an invoice will be issued for the remaining amount.
The circular also indicated that the concerned authority returned all the amounts received after the issuance of the decision on October 14, after deducting the fees due for the electricity and water connection service, according to the aforementioned mechanism.
Her Excellency Mrs. Amna bint Ahmed Al-Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, stated that the circular regulating the mechanism for dealing with requests submitted before the issuance of the ministerial decision regarding the cancellation of the recovery of the cost of infrastructure comes within the framework of regulatory procedures to implement the order of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and President The Council of Ministers, may God protect him, regarding the abolition of fees for recovering the cost of infrastructure associated with the issuance of building permits.
The Minister affirmed the constant keenness to follow up the procedures for implementing the order of His Highness, given its positive effects that will be reflected in the supply and strengthening of the real estate sector and the sectors of infrastructure and construction, and motivate them to contribute more to advancing the wheel of economic development and accelerating the pace of construction and construction, and continuing to create qualitative opportunities, pointing to The important role played by the private sector as a major driver of growth.
